Overview






Mission

Promote the convergence of different disciplines and knowledge in the same academic space and strengthen its articulation with the training processes; attenuate the reductionism of the classical unidisciplinary view and promote other types of attitudes, behaviors and practices that facilitate the diversification of knowledge and teamwork.






General Purpose

The objective of the Interdisciplinary Group of Biotechnological Innovation (BioNovo) is to drive investigation tending to the solid construction of new scientific knowledge, and promote development of innovative technological solutions integrals to address the challenges facing the agriculture, natural resources, health and interrelated human systems at the local level.






Research Area

Development and application of technological alternatives in food, health and environment for improving living conditions of vulnerable populations (Leadership: Diana Vanegas, and Irene Vélez).

Analysis of socio-ecological change and mechanisms of territorial dispossession (Leadership: Irene Vélez).

Simulation of complex processes and Development of smart productive systems supported by real-time monitoring devices (Leadership:José Isidro García, Diana Vanegas, and Juan Carlos Gómez).
